JUNIOR RACING
Quad racing
for juniors is a fast growing sport in the Northern Territory that allows our
junior riders to ride competitively or for fun at our race meetings, which are held throughout most of the year. Our race days are good, family fun, emphasising good sportsmanship and
safe riding. On joining TQA you
can apply for a licence application form to send off to Motorcycling Australia
(NT Branch) to obtain your licence. |
Licence
Motorcycling Australia NT (MANT) will require you to accompany the
form with the following:
- Proof of age of the
applicant (Birth Certificate of extract)
- Proof the applicant
has a current Ambulance subscription
- Proof that the
applicant has met with the requirements of the Junior Coaching Policy (JCP)
- Proof of current club
membership
- Written authorisation
of a parent or guardian
- All junior competitors
must produce their JCP upon demand of any key Official during a meeting.
Junior Coaching Programme
To obtain a
competition licence ALL junior riders (7 to under 16) must undertake a minimum
of 5 hours coaching by an accredited coach in required modules.
The TQA will advise
you of contact details of our accredited coach in order for you to complete the
programme.
To renew your licence
each year, all junior riders must complete the 5 hours of coaching EACH YEAR
until they reach the age of 16 and maintain their logbooks accordingly.
A junior rider’s age
on 1 January will determine his/her age for competition that year. However, a rider may move to the next
higher class when he/she become eligible to do so at any time during the year,
but once a rider moves to a higher age class in any competition, he/she may not
move back to the lower age class. Points earned in the lower class cannot be transferred to the higher
class.
For further details
regarding junior classes of competition (machine capacities and age
groups) please contact the club.

The TQA
enjoys a strong following of members in the senior classes. Senior classes are for riders over 16
years of age. To race in a senior
class at a TQA event you will need a Motorcycling Australia National Competition
Licence (or a ‘One Event’ day licence is available at most events).
